How a story and a tip get onto the page

The editorial process behind bookmakers.today: source selection, rewriting rules, tip selection and settlement.

Sources

We monitor regulators, operator announcements, the gambling trade press and a small set of football news feeds for injury and line-up news. Each candidate story is scored for relevance to the betting and casino sector. Affiliate reviews, promo codes and marketing pages from the operators themselves are dropped.

Rewriting

A story is rewritten from scratch in plain English: short sentences, no marketing language, jargon explained once. Facts, figures and quotes are limited to what the original report contains; nothing is added. The original is linked at the foot of the article.

Tips

For each match with a priced market, our odds feed carries model chances for the 1X2, over/under 2.5 and both-teams-to-score markets. We keep the selection with the highest chance that also beats the best price, rank them across the day, and allow at most two picks from one league. The list can change until the first pick kicks off, then it is frozen.

Settlement

Picks are settled automatically from the final score: 1X2 on the 90-minute result, totals and both-teams-to-score on the full-time score. Postponed, abandoned or extra-time matches are voided. The 7-day and 30-day records on the tips page are computed from every settled pick, with no selection removed afterwards.

Corrections

If a story misreads its source, write to [email protected] with the link. Corrected articles keep their address and show an updated time.
